viaTOLL no longer exists, today you must use e-TOLL

This text gives you an overview of how you can comply with your toll obligation (in Poland).

viaTOLL - electronic toll system (outdated, no longer current!)

This electronic toll system has been used on selected sections of Polish roads since 01.07.2011. This applies to vehicles with a total weight of over 3.5 t, i.e. they are obliged to pay the toll on the viaTOLL road sections. The toll collected by viaTOLL is paid using the viaBOX.

You can comply with your toll obligation by purchasing a viaBOX (vehicle device), using service and sales points of viaTOLL, and registering with the service and sales points. Registration itself is free, but you must pay a deposit for the viaBOX. In addition, the registered viaBOX must be topped up with money, as the toll can only be paid after it has been topped up.

e-TOLL (App) and device for toll billing (OBU or ZSL on-board device)

Since October 2021, you must pay your toll via e-TOLL. The corresponding device, which you previously needed in the form of the viaBOX to pay the toll under the old viaTOLL system, is replaced by an OBU (On-Board Unit) or ZSL on-board device with e-TOLL. These two devices for collecting data enable automatic toll billing. With e-TOLL, satellite-based vehicle location (GPS) is used, so that after activating the e-TOLL app/on-board device, the location of your vehicle can be recorded. This allows the kilometres driven on the toll motorway to be determined and totalled.

How do I pay the recorded toll?

After registering with the e-TOLL app, you must create a billing account. You can top up your account by transferring money to your app account via bank transfer or by making cash payments at customer service points (MOK). Other ways to pay the toll are:

• a payment card (e.g. credit card)

• a fleet card (or fuel card)

• a mobile payment (BLIK, PayByLink)
