Travel Diary Austria: Day 14
On the fourteenth and final day of my Austria tour, I arrived in Innsbruck, the capital of Tyrol, known for its impressive alpine backdrop and rich culture. Innsbruck provided the perfect conclusion to my trip with a mix of historic architecture, modern city life, and breathtaking nature.
My day in Innsbruck began with a walk through the old town. The narrow lanes with their colourful houses, medieval buildings, and charming boutiques radiated a unique atmosphere. Particularly impressive was the Golden Roof, a landmark of the city, whose shimmering copper shingles sparkle in the sunlight.
I also visited the Hofburg and the Hofkirche Museum, which offered deep insight into the rich history and culture of Tyrol. The magnificent rooms of the Hofburg and the impressive collection of art treasures showed me the importance of Innsbruck as a former imperial city.
In the afternoon, I treated myself to a ride on the Nordkette cable car, which took me directly from the city centre into the alpine mountain world. Once at the top, I enjoyed a spectacular view of Innsbruck and the surrounding mountain panorama. The combination of city and nature was fascinating and unique.
I ended the evening at the cozy and famous restaurant "Strudel Café Kröll", where I enjoyed Tyrolean specialities such as Tiroler Gröstl and one last Austrian apple strudel.
Innsbruck was the perfect finale to my journey through Austria, a city that wonderfully combines tradition and modernity, culture and nature. With countless memories and the intention to return soon, I set off on my journey home.
Conclusion: Unforgettable experiences and excitement for what's next
After 14 days full of unforgettable impressions, from the lively cities to the quiet alpine villages, from the impressive mountain world to the culinary delights, I can say: This trip through Austria was one of the best decisions of my life. Every day brought new discoveries and adventures that left a deep impression on me.
I would do this road trip again without hesitation! I'm already looking forward to my next destination with great anticipation. Where will I be drawn to next? The possibilities are endless, and adventure is calling. One thing is certain: the next road trip will be just as exciting!
