Day 10 and 11: Lech am Arlberg and the Lechquellengebirge

Last updated: 23.03.2026 Reading time: 6 Minute(s)

My tenth and eleventh travel days took me to Lech am Arlberg, a gem in the Austrian Alps, known for its picturesque beauty and the surrounding Lechquellengebirge.

Lech am Arlberg welcomed me with its charming village character, surrounded by a breathtaking mountain backdrop. The blend of traditional wooden houses and stylish hotels created an inviting atmosphere. I spent the first day strolling through the cozy streets, enjoying the views of the impressive mountains and sampling local delicacies such as apple strudel in small cafés.

On the eleventh day, a hike in the Lechquellengebirge was on the agenda. The region is known for its unspoiled nature and well-maintained, wonderful hiking trails. I followed a path that wound through dense forests and over blooming alpine meadows, with impressive views of the surrounding mountains. The silence and purity of nature were overwhelming and offered a perfect opportunity to unwind and enjoy the fresh mountain air.

After returning to Lech, I rounded off both days with a cozy dinner. Regional specialties such as Käsespätzle and a glass of Vorarlberg wine were the perfect ending to these two days in one of Austria's most beautiful regions. Lech am Arlberg and the Lechquellengebirge offered an ideal combination of village charm and natural beauty.
