Why weight matters so much
In many countries, the permissible maximum weight of your vehicle alone determines whether a simple vignette is enough or whether you have to use a considerably more complex toll system.

Vignette required
In countries with a vignette system (e.g. Austria, Switzerland, Czechia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria), a time-based vignette is enough for cars and most motorhomes – exactly what’s included in the flat rate.

Distance-based toll
Instead of a vignette, heavier vehicles usually need an OBU device or kilometre-based billing – regardless of whether it’s an HGV or a heavy motorhome. We don’t currently have an offer of our own for this.

Motorhome up to 3.5 tonnes to Austria
AT vignette on its own: 12.80 €. With the flat rate: 12.80 €*, and all 8 countries are included as well.
Case B · Car and caravan SI
Car with caravan through Slovenia
Slovenia doesn’t count the trailer weight – a normal vignette (16.00 € on its own) is enough for the whole combination. With the flat rate: 12.80 €*, for SI and the other 7 countries at the same time.
Case C · Counter-example: heavy vehicle

Then a vignette isn’t enough – you need a distance-based toll or a GO-Box. We currently have no offer of our own for this. Instead, the checker names the responsible official body.

One trip passes through several of our 8 countries
No matter how often you use the checker for a new country: with the flat rate you still pay only 12.80 €* – for all 8 countries at the same time, not just the one you’ve just checked.

Who the flat rate pays off for
- You make at least two trips a month, no matter to which of the eight countries.
- Your travels are spread over several months of the year, not just one or two dates.
- You commute across borders and regularly cross one or more of the eight countries.
- You want to be able to set off spontaneously without first working out whether a single vignette is worth it.
- You travel with a caravan or trailer – the checker tells you in advance what applies in your country, and the flat rate covers the standard car vignette.
Who the flat rate is less likely to pay off for
- You drive exclusively in one country all year round for which an annual vignette is available (e.g. Austria or Slovenia). In that case, that country’s annual vignette is usually cheaper than 12 months of the flat rate.
- You only need one single short-term vignette in the whole year. In that case, a one-off single purchase is cheaper than an ongoing flat rate.
- Your vehicle is over 3.5 tonnes or, according to the checker, needs a distance-based toll instead of a vignette. We don’t have an offer for that yet – please talk to us first instead of ordering.
If one of these points applies to you, we’d rather tell you now than have you cancel a flat rate later that never suited your vehicle.

Cancellation & flexibility
The flat rate has no minimum term. You can cancel it at any time, effective at the end of the current billing period.
