Who the flat rate is worth it for – and who it isn't

Worth it

You drive to one of the eight countries at least twice a month.
Your route takes you through several countries, such as Austria, Slovenia and Hungary in one trip.
You commute across the border.
You want to set off spontaneously without doing the maths first.

Probably not worth it

You drive exclusively in one country all year, and that country offers an annual vignette. In that case, the annual vignette is usually cheaper.
You only need one single short-term vignette in the whole year. In that case, buying it individually is cheaper.
You drive a motorhome, a motorcycle or a vehicle over 3.5 t. The flat rate only applies to cars.

If any of these points apply to you, we'd rather tell you now than have you cancel a flat rate later that never made sense for you.

Yes, monthly – until you cancel. You can cancel at any time with one click; the notice period is 0 days.

Do I pay per country or once for all?

Once for all. 12,80 €* a month covers all eight countries at the same time. You don't commit to one country when you sign up – you activate your vignette for whichever country you need at the moment.

How often can I activate a vignette?

As often as you like, in any of the eight countries, at no extra cost.

Is the digital vignette officially valid?

Yes. We register your vignette for your license plate with the relevant toll operator (e.g. ASFINAG in Austria). Europamaut itself is a private intermediary; the registered vignette is officially valid.

How quickly is my vignette active?

Immediately after activation, for the period you have chosen – usually within a few minutes.

Which vehicles does the flat rate cover?

For cars. Motorhomes, motorcycles and vehicles over 3.5 t are not covered. If in doubt, write to us before you order.

Is the flat rate tied to a license plate?

Yes. When you sign up, you enter one license plate for which the vignettes are valid. If you change vehicles, please contact our customer service.

What happens to active vignettes after I cancel?

They stay valid until the end of their term. Cancelling only stops the flat rate from renewing.

How can Europamaut offer this for 12,80 €*?

The price is calculated to work out across many customers: some use the flat rate in several countries several times a month, others only once. That is the normal principle of a flat rate – which is why we also say openly above who it isn't worth it for.

Is the Austrian route toll included in the Vignette Flat Rate?

Not in the base price. With the Austria route toll add-on for 9.90 €* per billing period, we also cover the ASFINAG route toll per single trip by car up to 3.5 t on the A 13 Brenner, S 16 Arlberg, A 10 Tauern, A 9 Pyhrn and A 11 Karawanken (southbound only). Private toll roads such as the Grossglockner High Alpine Road are not included.
