Vignette required roads
In Slovakia, there is a large number of roads that require a vignette. To be allowed to use them, you must purchase a vignette in advance. If you use vignette-required roads without a vignette, fines may be imposed. Therefore, avoid this risk and make sure to follow the vignette-required roads regulations.
Digital vignette
A vignette requirement applies on almost all motorway and expressway sections in Slovakia. Sections without fees are marked with signs showing “›BEZ UHRADY‹”. The digital vignette (also called an e-vignette) for Slovak motorways and expressways replaced the original sticker vignette and has been in place since 2020.
Not every vehicle falls under the vignette requirement. In addition to the vignette requirement, there is also a distance-based toll in Slovenia. Which roads require a vignette?

Motorway sections that require a vignette
The following sections of the D1 (the longest motorway in Slovakia) require a vignette:
Bratislava-Východ – Žilina (173 km)
Dubná Skala -- Turany (17 km)
Ivachnová – Poprad-Západ (64 km)
Poprad-Východ – Prešov-Západ (71 km)
Prešov-Juh – Košice-Sever (20 km)
