Czech Republic: Vignette prices to be frozen in 2027 – Senate approval still pending
The Czech Chamber of Deputies (Poslanecká sněmovna) approved a bill on 23 September 2026 in its third reading that is intended to abolish the automatic annual price increase of the electronic motorway vignette (dálniční známka). If the Senate also approves it, vignette prices will remain frozen at 2026 levels in 2027 as well.
However, the reform has not yet been finally adopted: next, the Senate must decide on the bill, after which it must be signed by the Czech President. The Senate's approval is still pending. The planned effective date for the frozen prices is 1 January 2027.
What exactly will change?
If the price freeze goes ahead, the same rates will apply in 2027 as currently in 2026: the annual vignette will still cost 2,570 CZK, the 30-day vignette 480 CZK, the 10-day vignette 300 CZK, and the daily vignette 230 CZK. Without the reform, the automatic link to consumer prices would have led to an increase in 2027 as well.
In addition, the validity of the daily vignette is set to change from 2027: instead of being valid only until midnight on the day of purchase as before, it will in future be valid for 24 hours from the time of purchase – a noticeable advantage for anyone crossing the border only in the late afternoon or evening.
| Vignettentyp | Preis 2026 | Preis 2027 (geplant) | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tagesvignette | 230 Kč (ca. 9,50 €) | 230 Kč (ca. 9,50 €) | Unverändert |
| 10-Tage-Vignette | 300 Kč (ca. 12,40 €) | 300 Kč (ca. 12,40 €) | Unverändert |
| 30-Tage-Vignette | 480 Kč (ca. 19,80 €) | 480 Kč (ca. 19,80 €) | Unverändert |
| Jahresvignette | 2.570 Kč (ca. 106,20 €) | 2.570 Kč (ca. 106,20 €) | Unverändert |
The previous automatic price adjustment in line with inflation was introduced by the previous government. The current Czech government wants to provide drivers with noticeable financial relief by freezing vignette prices, as far as the further legislative process allows.

For trucks, buses and motorhomes over 3.5 t gross vehicle weight, the distance-based toll applies instead, charged via the electronic, satellite-based toll system MYTO CZ with an on-board unit (OBU); the rates are based on distance, vehicle category, number of axles, and EURO and CO₂ class. Not relevant for most car travelers. There is no separate special toll in the Czech Republic.
