Bulgaria: Highway vignette 30 percent more expensive since August 1, 2026
Anyone traveling through Bulgaria by car has been paying significantly more for the motorway vignette (Bulgarian: vinetka) since August 1, 2026: The Bulgarian Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works has raised prices across the board by 30 percent. The annual vignette for cars now costs 64.50 euros instead of the previous 49.60 euros.
The increase is justified by the poor condition of many Bulgarian second- and third-class roads, as well as the need for investment in modern traffic management systems and lighting. The additional annual revenue of over 48 million euros is to be used specifically for repairs to lower-category roads and for the modernization of toll systems.
These are the new prices for cars
For cars and other category B vehicles (up to 3.5 t gross vehicle weight), the following vignette prices apply as of August 1, 2026: The annual vignette costs 64.50 euros (previously 49.60 euros), the quarterly vignette 35.90 euros (previously 27.61 euros), the monthly vignette 19.90 euros (previously 15.34 euros), the weekly vignette 10.00 euros (previously 7.67 euros), the weekend vignette 6.60 euros (previously 5.11 euros), and the daily vignette 5.30 euros (previously 4.09 euros).
Customers who obtain their Bulgaria vignette through the Europamaut flat rate don't need to worry about the price increase: The monthly flat-rate fee remains unchanged, regardless of how often the official Bulgarian vignette prices change. Maut in Bulgarien auf einen Blick
Für Pkw und Wohnmobile bis 3,5 t zGG gilt auf Autobahnen und Schnellstraßen die digitale Vignettenpflicht – ein Pauschalbetrag für einen festen Zeitraum. Motorräder sind von der Vignettenpflicht befreit.
Für Lkw und Busse über 3,5 t zGG gilt stattdessen die streckenbezogene Maut, deren Höhe unter anderem von der Streckenlänge, Achszahl und Emissionsklasse abhängt. Wohnmobile bleiben davon ausgenommen und benötigen auch über 3,5 t zGG nur die Vignette. Zusätzlich fällt bei bestimmten Donau-Überquerungen (z. B. Brücken, Fähren) eine gesonderte Sondermaut an – unabhängig vom sonstigen Mautprodukt.
