Traffic Jam Forecasts for Germany and Austria
With the end of the Fasching (carnival) holidays in Bavaria and parts of Baden-Württemberg this weekend, the return journey of holidaymakers from Austria to Germany is also underway. Delays are therefore expected in particular in the state of Salzburg. Most affected are the Tauern Autobahn (A10) in the construction zone between Werfen and Golling, the B 159 (Salzachtal Straße) between Bischofshofen and Kuchl, and the B 311 (Pinzgauer Straße) between Lend and St. Johann im Pongau. In addition to the Tauern Autobahn, the Inntal and Brenner Autobahn, the Fernpass route, and the Tyrolean and Vorarlberg federal roads in Austria are also at risk of traffic jams.

You should also expect additional delays and traffic jams at construction sites.
Traffic forecasts for Vienna: trade fair, concert and demonstrations
From this Thursday (06.03.2025) to Sunday (09.03.2025), Vienna's biggest education fair, "BeSt Wien," will once again take place. Busy streets are expected, as the fair has welcomed between 75,000 and 80,000 people in recent years. Delays are expected when traveling to the exhibition hall in Vienna-Leopoldstadt, particularly on the Südosttangente (A23), in the area of the Prater and Handelskai junction, on Ausstellungsstraße, and at Praterstern.
In addition, various demonstrations will take place in Vienna's city center this weekend. Both Friday and Saturday are affected. The demonstrations may lead to road closures. On Friday, the "March of Science" is planned, and on Saturday, two demonstrations on the topic of "Feminist Struggle Day" will take place. It is recommended to use public transport and avoid the city center.
But it's not just the fair and the demonstration that will cause delays! Lenny Kravitz's concert will also draw his fans to the Austrian capital next Sunday. The Hütteldorfer Straße and the streets in the Nibelungenviertel are considered at risk of traffic jams. Travelers by car are urged not to use resident parking spaces under any circumstances. It is recommended to use public transport instead (U6 and tram lines 6, 9, 18, 49 as well as bus line 48A).
