Day 9: The glamour of St. Moritz – a day full of history and luxury

On the ninth day of my journey, a perfect mix of history and glamorous flair awaits me. First, I head to the three impressive fortifications of Bellinzona, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There I meet a local expert who guides me through the fascinating history of these medieval castles. They are breathtaking examples of alpine fortified architecture and tell of the strategic importance of this region in past centuries. The thick walls and towers transport me to another era and give me a wonderful insight into Switzerland's historical heritage.

After the visit, the journey continues through the breathtaking region of Graubünden. We cross the San Bernardino Pass and pass through the charming town of Tiefencastel, following the young Rhine as it winds through the valley. The drive is an experience in itself, with constantly changing landscapes and views that are hard to beat.

Soon we reach the famous Julier Pass, which leads us into glamorous St. Moritz. This glamorous resort town lies in the beautiful Engadin, framed by the imposing Grisons Alps. St. Moritz radiates luxury and elegance, and I'm looking forward to exploring this world-famous town. My accommodation, the elegant Hotel Crystal, promises the utmost comfort – the perfect place to relax and wind down the day while preparing for the adventures to come.

Day 10: A free day in elegant St. Moritz

The tenth day of my journey begins leisurely and with anticipation for the possibilities this world-famous holiday resort offers. St. Moritz, synonymous with glamour and jet-set living, promises many exciting activities. I have the whole day free to do as I please, and it's hard for me to decide: should I stroll through the elegant boutiques and soak up the luxurious flair of this town, or perhaps make use of one of the many outdoor leisure opportunities?

Fortunately, my tour guide gives me a mountain railway pass, which opens the door to all cable cars, funiculars, and chairlifts in the Engadin St. Moritz region – and free of charge. This gives me the perfect opportunity to explore the surrounding alpine world. A trip over the Bernina Pass is also on the list of recommendations, as the picturesque railway route is considered one of the most beautiful train journeys in the world.

In the end, I decide on a relaxed cable car ride that takes me high up into the mountains. Once at the top, I enjoy the spectacular view of the Engadin, the snow-capped peaks, and the crystal-clear mountain lakes. The fresh breeze and the impressive landscape provide the perfect backdrop to enjoy the day in peace and leave the stress of everyday life behind.

In the evening, I return to my cozy Hotel Crystal and let the day come to a peaceful close.
