Arlberg Tunnel Reopened

The Arlberg Tunnel between Tyrol and Vorarlberg is now open again. Since Friday, November 22, the tunnel is accessible once more, marking the end of the months-long closure.

With the reopening of the 14-kilometer tunnel, your travel time on this route (Schnellstraße S16) is shortened by about 30 minutes. You no longer need to plan for the detour over the Arlberg Pass.

No further closure of the Arlberg Tunnel is planned in the coming years, as the fundamental renovation of the tunnel has been completed on schedule.
