How many vignettes are allowed?

In Austria it is not looked upon favorably if you have more than 2 sticker vignettes on your windshield. Nevertheless, it is not prohibited, and you don't have to expect any penalties if you have more than 2 sticker vignettes attached.

Care must be taken to ensure that the vignette is stuck in a clearly visible place on the inside of the windshield, for example in the upper left corner or in the area of the rearview mirror. It must not be placed within the tinted strip area or within the driver's field of vision.

Anyone who wants to avoid discussions and travel delays caused by having more than 2 sticker vignettes should best remove the no-longer-valid sticker vignette before the trip using dish soap and warm water. The mixture is then generously applied to the sticker vignette. After a few minutes of soaking, the old sticker vignette can be carefully peeled off and the new one applied.
