To cover the costs of maintaining highways and expressways in the Czech Republic, a vignette requirement applies. Since January 2021, the vignette in the Czech Republic has been available exclusively in digital form; adhesive stickers are no longer issued.
A vignette is mandatory for most highways and expressways in the Czech Republic. It must be purchased and registered to the license plate of passenger cars, motorhomes, and light trucks (vehicles with at least four wheels and a maximum permissible gross weight of up to 3.5 tons). Vehicles with a permissible gross weight of more than 3.5 tons require an electronic transmitter (On-Board Unit 5051).
You can obtain the digital vignette from us for all available validity periods. You can purchase your e-vignette as a 10-day vignette, 30-day vignette, or annual vignette. Since March 2024, a 1-day vignette has also been available. The ordering process is simple and intuitive, allowing you to conveniently register your vignette online to your license plate.
Whether you need a digital vignette in the Czech Republic depends on which highways or expressways you plan to use during your trip.
Since there is no waiting period for validity when purchasing through our online shop, you can buy your digital vignette shortly before departure. However, it is important that you only begin your journey once you have received the registration confirmation.

You can check whether your digital vignette is currently valid free of charge via our validity check page.
Anyone driving on highways or expressways in the Czech Republic without a valid vignette may face a fine.
The fine currently amounts to up to 5,000 Czech crowns, which corresponds to approximately 200 EUR. The exact amount may vary depending on the individual case.
Fixed cameras installed on so-called toll gantries are used to check the validity of digital vignettes.
