Renovation of the Pfänder Tunnel

According to ASFINAG, the renovation of the Pfänder Tunnel is planned from 10.03.2025 to 24.10.2025. The focus will be on the lighting system, traffic management, video surveillance, emergency call equipment, doors and gates, fire alarm system, control system, and the installation of an acoustic tunnel monitoring system. Please note that no construction work will take place on weekends or during the summer holidays (12.07.2025 - 09.2025), but the use of the route will be restricted during the following periods:

Closures of the Pfänder Tunnel with partial restrictions

  • Closure of the standard lane from 10.03.2025 - 28.03.2025

  • Closure of the overtaking lane from 31.03.2025 - 11.04.2025

  • Closure of the Pfänder Tunnel from 14.04.2025 - 30.04.2025 (between 8 pm and 5 am)

  • Closure of the Pfänder Tunnel from 05.05.2025 - 11.07.2025 (between 8 pm and 5 am)

  • Closure of the Pfänder Tunnel from 08.09.2025 - 06.10.2025 (between 8 pm and 5 am)

  • Closure of the Pfänder Tunnel from 14.10.2025 - 24.10.2025 (between 8 pm and 5 am)

Complete closure of the Pfänder Tunnel

A complete closure of the Pfänder Tunnel will take place from 07.10.2025 to 13.01.2025.

Therefore, please take note of the complete closure as well as the restricted use of the Pfänder Tunnel during other periods in order to plan for possible delays and, if necessary, to take alternative routes.
